Ron Paul is way ahead of his time because he is trying to restore the principles of classical liberalism which inspired our Founders, but he is doing it among a population that has been indoctrinated by the State to think like socialists. And the media outlets are quasi arms of the State propaganda machine and so they, too, are befuddled by the message of liberty and justice that Ron Paul is championing.

Is The Debt Linked To Our Education?

Our culture was changed when the State usurped the control of the economy from the natural free market forces. Ironically another way of stating this is that the State created a counterfeit ethic, built upon the counterfeiting practices of the ego-driven interventionists.

Fiat currencies, claims to people's incomes, laws originating from the minds of ego-driven interpreters all are examples of some of the counterfeit practices which over several generations of complacency created a counterfeit ethic.

Succinctly it can be classified as materialism. Deferred gratification is a necessary part of an ever-advancing civilization because it is the source of savings which is the foundation of capital and capital structure.
